12 Performing Arts Foundation Year Programs

Our Foundation Musical Theatre course will teach you the core aspects of musical theatre, including dancing, singing and acting. This entry level programme is designed to bring you up to speed on all the competencies you need to move on to a degree level qualification in Musical Theatre either at the IAB or elsewhere.

The Foundation Year is a full immersion preparatory program for international students wishing to enroll at the University of Parma or any Italian University or a Music Conservatory. It is organized in collaboration with A. Boito Music Conservatory in Parma.

Our Foundation Dance course is designed to give you intense training over two-terms to develop your skills and artistry in preparation to access degree level education. We will strengthen your skills in a range of different techniques while developing you as a versatile and confident performer.

Our aim is to inspire the next generation by developing and nurturing talent as well as supporting a thorough understanding of how the industry works. You will be able to gain experience working within a student-led production company with live client briefs. The course offers strong industry links and the College has benefitted from working with the BBC, Twofour, Eddystone Media, and Radio Plymouth.

This course is designed by professionals who are experts in their fields, including radio, film, television, design and print. Our aim is to inspire the next generation by developing and nurturing talent, as well as supporting a thorough understanding of how the industry works.

Our full-time Foundation Acting course offers a student-centred approach to learning with a strong focus on the individual.

Our full time foundation course in Musical Theatre develops your skill and confidence in all three of the essential disciplines required for this demanding training. Delivered by tutors from our BA course, this is an excellent foundation for progression into a full-time training course.

The AMSonline Foundation Degree in Music & Sound is developed to mirror the modern music industry allowing students to gain the skills to be an independent multi-skilled music practitioner, fluent with various forms of multi-media.

Hertfordshire is home to the majority of the UK's media production. We have strong links with the major film and TV studios, all located within 45 minutes of our campus. In recent years staff and students have worked on major blockbuster movies including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the Harry Potter films. We provide some of the best facilities in the UK for studying and producing your own creative work. Sharing of resources and expertise across the faculty is encouraged, giving you access to all spaces and equipment.

The course aims to prepare students with the creative skills required to work within the media make-up industry.
