Environmental Engineering is the branch of engineering that studies environmental problems in an integrated manner, taking into account their ecological, social, economic and technological dimensions, with the aim of promoting sustainable development.

The objective of Mechanical Engineering doctoral studies is to prepare future leaders in mechanical engineering capable of practical design and creative application of computational methods for the development and research of mathematical models of real-world objects and systems.

The aim of doctoral studies in Materials Engineering is to prepare the best-qualified specialists – scientists, who are able to individually conduct the works of scientific research and experimental development, and contribute to solving relevant scientific problems of material engineering.

The Master of Electrical Engineering program will equip the graduates with the advancements made in the electrical engineering industry namely Power systems and high voltage engineering to become more holistic electrical engineers. Furthermore, the graduates also have the opportunity to advance the researcher in these fields as scientists, or academicians or pursue their studies at a Ph.D. level

The M.S. in industrial engineering offers advanced studies in operations research; optimization; supply chain and revenue management; financial engineering; quality and reliability engineering; and product design and development. This program is offered online or on-campus with thesis and non-thesis options available, giving students the flexibility they need to succeed. 

This course provides an opportunity at master's level for professional engineers to deepen the knowledge and skills gained in their undergraduate studies while expanding their managerial and professional engineering knowledge. The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through disciplinary and professional engineering subjects, subjects relating to the chosen major, an independent project, and a set of electives.

The mission of the program in Mechanical Engineering to bridge the gap between conventional engineering and industry through graduates who are equipped with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for successful professional careers. The graduates can also pursue higher studies.

The B.Sc. program in Mechanical Engineering at KIT has been designed specifically for international students who do not speak German, yet want to pursue engineering studies at a leading German Technical University. In addition, the engineering courses are combined with a high level of additional services comparable to a college structure known from the Anglo-American university system (CBS College Program). These additional services are organized here at the Carl Benz School of Engineering of the KIT.

The mission of the civil engineering program is to produce graduates equipped with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for pursuing a successful professional career in the civil engineering and infrastructure field. The program also prepares its students for graduate studies.

Doctoral studies in Chemical engineering are a traditional, research-based, usually four-year, doctoral degree program, which provides: a thorough grounding in the fundamental principles of chemical engineering, as well as an intensive research experience; a mentoring-intensive environment with co-supervision flexibility, allowing students to work with the outstanding Lithuanian scientist of their field; and others.

This course qualifies individuals who apply a body of knowledge in a range of contexts to undertake professional work and provides a pathway for further learning in engineering. Students with a bachelor's degree in a non-cognate engineering field can apply to this course. All applications are assessed individually and the course structure is tailor-made based on the basic qualifications that students possess. Applicants without a degree but who have a TAFE diploma or equivalent qualification in engineering and significant related work experience are also considered.

The master's programme in Engineering Physics bridges the gap between theoretical physics and practical engineering, seeking to develop future technology. Solving complex problems is an integral part of education, demanding in-depth knowledge of physics, as well as analytical and computational tools. Through specialisations, students become domain experts in one field of physics and go on to advanced industrial R&D positions or PhD studies.

The master’s degree program (M.Sc) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is designed for outstanding graduates who wish to expand and deepen their knowledge in the field. The studies prepare the students for professional work in research and development at the forefront of science and technology. The master’s degree program is designed for undergraduates in electrical and electronics engineering, physics, computer engineering, and mechanical engineering.

The aim of the studies is to educate specialists in the field of widely understood mechanical engineering, which includes the construction, manufacturing, and operation of machines. The study program includes lectures, tutorials, and laboratory classes in fundamental subjects of mechanical engineering, delivered to the students during the first four semesters. Professional elective subjects of the specialization Design and Production Engineering are conducted at the final three semesters.

The aim of the M.Sc. program in Materials Engineering is to provide students with expertise and advanced knowledge in their selected field of specialization. M.Sc. students carry out advanced research supervised by an expert faculty member. Students graduating with an M.Sc. degree are qualified for senior R&D positions in industry and can continue towards Ph.D. studies. In particular, M.Sc. studies can be extended to Ph.D. studies in a combined track such that the thesis exam serves also as the Ph.D. candidacy exam.
