We created these rankings to determine the top places for international students in 2026 based on the most important factors that students consider when choosing their study abroad destination.

How we calculate our rankings

Step 1: We got the top reasons for studying abroad from our ownโ€ฏinternational student survey*โ€ฏthat reached 42,000 prospective students representing 200+ countries. This determined 5 factors to rank the countries:

  1. University rankings
  2. Achieving career goals
  3. Culture and lifestyle
  4. Personal development
  5. Adventure

Step 2: We gathered all the relevant external sources**, such as QS University Rankings and the Quality of Life Index, and calculated each country's score for every factor.

Step 3: We weighted the factors and combined them to create the final list of the top 10 countries!
