We offerSummer short-term (2-week) Intensive English Courses. These are immersive programs open to student who are currently in high school. 2026 dates are from June 27 - July 10, 2026. Students select one course (non-credit) to study over the two-week session. Classes are held daily, Monday through Friday in an engaging, experiential academic setting. Morning class is from 9:15 - 11:30 am and afternoon class is from 1:00 - 3:15 pm. Choose from two options of Intensive English tracks. Cost includes housing, meals, activities, trips, and classes.

UC Davis Summer Academy is a rigorous residential college preparatory program that prepares students for the university application process. Designed for international high school seniors who plan to apply for admission to universities in the United States, the program develops students’ critical thinking to help them become more analytical learners who are able to apply their writing and presentation skills across the college curriculum.

The Associate of Arts (DTA) degree with Specialization in World Languages provides the required preparation for successful transfer into a bachelor's degree program in World Languages at the Junior level. The Associate of Arts (DTA) degree is a Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA) degree. The following course set fulfills the requirement of the Specialization in World Languages for the Associate of Arts (DTA) Degree. This specialization enables students to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in multiple languages, and to analyze, examine and explore oral and written communication using a variety of topics through authentic materials, in all major time frames.

Learn to address the needs of K–12 students studying English as a second language with Brenau's online English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Endorsement. You can complete this nine-credit hour program as a standalone credential or incorporate it into an education graduate program. A bachelor's degree, a Level 4 teaching certificate and one year of teaching experience are required to apply.

The Associate of Arts in World Language Degree develops students’ critical thinking, analytical, and communicative skills while providing a basis for understanding cultures and languages, thus preparing graduates for many careers in a multicultural world where communication is vital in our growing global interdependence and technological connectivity.

In our intensive English program, you can experience life in the US and study academic English to prepare for your university degree or future career. We offer high beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of instruction with 18-20 hours of class per week. You will share classes with students from all over the world, including Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South & Latin America, and the United States. We welcome all students, international and domestic.

You’ll be prepared to gain entry-level English language teaching positions stateside and abroad with a graduate-level Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). You’ll gain skills ideal for enhancing teaching and ministry within multicultural or cross-cultural environments, including teaching reading, grammar, and intercultural communication.

For 70 years, the Intensive English Program at the University of Miami (IEP) has immersed students in American culture while preparing them for academic success through quality English-language instruction. The IEP is accredited by the CEA - Commission on English Language Program Accreditation. The IEP is a member of the UCIEP, English USA and the Florida Consortium of IEPs.

Our approach is a communicative one; we emphasize proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in every course. In addition to our focus on communication in the target language, our courses provide students with the strong grammatical base necessary to progress beyond the elementary level. The Associate in Arts in Spanish for Transfer (AA-T in Spanish) is designed to provide a clear pathway to a CSU institution for students who plan to transfer and complete a CSU major or baccalaureate degree in Spanish. The Spanish department offers courses that serve as a basis for broad liberal education, advanced degrees, and further study in languages, linguistics, and English Literature as preparation for a teaching credential. It is also supplementary preparation for many professional fields, including emergency services, the legal and medical professions, social work, Business, Hospitality Management, information technology, foreign service, public relations, journalism, translation, and interpretation.

The Associate of Arts in Spanish for Transfer provides transfer majors with a strong foundation not only in the four basic language skills (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing) but also in the civilization and cultures of Spain and Latin America. The degree emphasizes the acquisition of communicative competence and the development of intercultural awareness, appreciation, and understanding. Completion of the Spanish: Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) will prepare you to meet minimum lower-division admission requirements (60 transferable units) for transfer to a California State University (CSU)or the University of California (UC). For the transfer to a UC, please consult with a counselor for additional courses that may be needed. The Spanish program map below includes all of your major coursework and recommended general education courses by term that is needed to fulfill your degree and transfer requirements.

The English Language Program (ELP) at the University of North Florida (UNF) is designed to prepare students for university-level studies and other professional English-speaking environments. Spend 3 weeks in summer or winter living and learning in the heart of Washington, D.C., and engaging with classmates from more than 30 countries. Our three-week American Conversational English program provides you with expert instruction in grammar, conversation, and listening skills.

This is a multi-session course, but you can take as few - or as many sessions - as you wish. It does not matter in which order you take the sessions. After taking this course, students have reported increased test scores - in particular in the parts of the exam they have found most troublesome. Equal focus is given to all skill areas.

Students majoring in English choose from an assortment of courses in analytical and creative composition, literature of the United States and the world, and film studies.
