The goal of the doctoral study program Didactics of Chemistry is to prepare specialists to improve the quality of chemical education in the Czech Republic in accordance with current social needs and in accordance with the educational programs of advanced European countries based on scientific research results. The doctoral program is focused on the preparation of specialists in the field of chemical education theory in accordance with current knowledge of chemistry, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, informatics, and other disciplines. The aim of the study is the preparation for highly qualified research work with deep theoretical and practical knowledge in xenobiochemistry and pathobiochemistry and good knowledge in other biochemical sciences and related sciences in the field of pharmacy, biology, and medicine. The core of the program is experimental laboratory work, the results of which are published and are included in the dissertation theses.

The Ph.D. program concentrates on economic theory and its applications in economic and financial analyses. The program focuses on the modeling and analyses of economic processes and the behavior of economic agents, using modern microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, econometrics, and finance. The doctoral program aims to prepare highly qualified and trained experts for academia, international organizations, the financial sector as well as other industries.

Pharmacology and toxicology are sciences that study the mechanisms of mutual interactions of substances and medicinal preparations with biologic systems and observe their both favorable and adverse impact on the organism. The final goal is the use of this knowledge in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human and veterinary conditions. A great advantage of the study of pharmacology and toxicology is the close interconnection of the theoretic field with all clinical specialties that perform therapy, prevention, and diagnosis. The study program in Pharmacology and Toxicology is therefore suitable not only for those interested in experimental research but also for those seeking their prospective careers in clinical work. The main bias of the study program, nevertheless, is experimental, at both the pre-clinical and clinical levels. The goal of the doctoral program Pharmacology and Toxicology is to train specialists with deep knowledge in the areas of clinical as well experimental pharmacology and toxicology. This envelops knowledge of wide areas of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, effects, and toxicity of medications, including the knowledge of properties of particular forms of medicinal preparations. The program is carried out without any specialization.

The students of the branch of study will have acquired comprehensive knowledge and skills required for conducting independent research and other scientific activities in quantum optics and optoelectronics. In accord with individual study plans students concentrate on the topic of their thesis. They can find employment in both fundamental and applied research at universities, research institutes, and industry. The progress in the application of optics in numerous research areas (physics, biology, chemistry, medicine, communications, and robotics) leads to an increase in the range of employment possibilities.

Doctoral study is designed as a preparation of researchers in the field of educational and school psychology, who will participate in the development of psychological theory and research through independent creative activities. The doctoral study will deepen the knowledge in the field with the application of Czech and foreign knowledge and research results will further extend the methodological and research skills and competencies of doctoral students, as well as presentation skills, with an emphasis on educational and school psychology, other psychological disciplines and social sciences. The focus of the doctoral study is the dissertation, which has the character of the original scientific work. Through the dissertation thesis of the empirical-theoretical or theoretical research, the doctoral student gains new knowledge on the studied topic and thus enriches its scientific description and conceptualization. The dissertation is involved in the development of the field in the national and international context. The aim of the study is to prepare researchers who, in the case of a further academic career at the university, get involved in pedagogic, scientific and research activities in educational and school psychology, possibly also in related psychological disciplines and other social sciences; in case of practical psychological activity the workers will theorize the given field and encompass it into a broader professional context. Functionally defined discipline that studies regulatory functions of organs in response and adaptation of specific systems of the organism to changes in external and internal environment in normal and pathological states. There is the dominance of transition from studies of indirect manifestations of certain functions to studies of their own functional and regulatory mechanisms at the cellular and molecular level in order to use the acquired knowledge for the prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of human diseases. The study program is carried out in collaboration with the Institute of Physiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.

The Art Education didactics Ph.D. study program supports areas of fine arts and its theory connected with the social science of education and didactics in a comprehensive realm of inquiry-based and international scientific approach. The Ph.D. program should strengthen the knowledge of art education and art reflection in the specialization of Art education and Creative arts majors thus being focused on the Art class didactics. The research area of the program then the main focus is to implement the model of reflective art which is targeted towards creative and inquiry-based art production which consequently leads towards the creation of methodologies and frameworks for didactic and pedagogical transformations in the fine and creative arts. Anatomy, Histology, and Embryology study program includes classical systematic macroanatomy, topographic anatomy, modern clinical anatomy, microscopic anatomy, histology (light microscopy and electron microscopy), immunohistochemistry, and cytology (morphology, biology, and pathology of the cell). Embryology is also included with special emphasis on the effect of environmental congenital developmental defects. This study program is without specialization.

The graduate masters the basic methodology of molecular biology and genetics, gene engineering, population genetics, and microscopy, which is able to practice, apply and interpret in research, clinical practice, or education. The graduate has a general overview of the basic statistical methods used in the evaluation of the results. The graduate demonstrated the ability of independent, creative, and team scientific work, can process and interpret the results, and is able to present these results at the scientific forum in Czech and English. The graduate is fully acquainted with the rules of ethics of scientific work, rules, and ethics associated with the interpretation of results, handling of patients' data, and work with genetically modified organisms (GMO), principles of animal protection against cruelty, and working in harmony with them.

The study program prepares students for independent academic work in the field of communication, media, and marketing studies at universities, with substantial knowledge of communication and media theories and methodologies.

Postgraduate study in Physiology and Pathophysiology is focused on the investigation of functions of organs and organ systems during responses and adaptations to changes in the external and internal environments in health and disease. The transition from studies of indirect manifestations of certain functions to their own functional and regulatory mechanisms at the cellular and molecular levels predominates. The acquired knowledge is fundamental for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human diseases. Study program without specialization.

The purpose of doctoral studies in the field of Historical and Systematic Theology is for students to cultivate, in the usual way for advanced studies, their ability to think theologically and to deepen their knowledge of the theological tradition in its historical and systematic dimensions on an expert level. Students learn to critically analyze and reflect on the knowledge acquired and methods used in their field and to interpret them both in their own specific contexts and in the interdisciplinary settings of contemporary scholarly knowledge. Depending on the subject of their dissertation project, their studies are focused on a specific specialized field of historical or systematic theology (for example, church history, the history of dogma, systematic theology, or dogmatics), but at the same time, they retain the appropriate breadth of vision and interdisciplinary orientation that pertains to all branches of theology.

The aim of the study is the dynamics, relationships, and functional characterization of basic structural components of eukaryotic cells under normal - physiological conditions and in pathological processes, as well as in their modeling. Furthermore, the general expressions of functional cells such as cell cycle, movement, etc., including its regulatory mechanisms. Methodical landmark is vytochemie, in situ hybridization, electron microscopy, image analysis, a biological experiment in vivo and in vitro. This program overlaps with a number of other fields, particularly in molecular biology, biochemistry, and physiology.

The program addresses open topics in software system analysis, development, and application. In both theoretical and practical terms, it has foundations in the research of software architectures, programming languages, and notations, together with tools and methods for software analysis and construction. These are studied both in general terms and in the context of important software system classes such as information systems, or distributed or parallel systems. On the creative side, the program combines projects of basic and applied research, often with strong experimental aspects, with outputs including research prototypes alongside traditional publications.
