Foundation, the first year of our four-year degree program, is built on the philosophy that there are fundamental approaches, skills, and knowledge to be learned that are common to all creative disciplines. We encourage students to have a cross-disciplinary foundation attitude: to take risks, suspend disbelief and generally be open to new experiences and ways of looking at the world.

International Foundation Year Programme (IFYP) equips students from different countries with the skills and knowledge required for undergraduate courses at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU). It offers an alternative path to further studies at HKSYU apart from mainstream public examinations such as GCE, A-Levels or International Baccalaureate (IB). In this programme, international students will improve their academic English Language proficiency and enhance their study skills and understanding of arts, social science, and business. Students who complete this programme and fulfil specific GPA and language requirements will be eligible for many undergraduate programmes from HKSYU.

The Foundation Program at SBS offers a new and exciting alternative route into studying for a full Bachelors Program at SBS. If you have non-standard qualifications or do not quite meet the entry requirements for our three-year Bachelor Program, then the Foundation Program is for you.

SUPERNOVA will assist students from different countries in adapting to the European education system and developing language and academic skills at an appropriate level for successful progression to an undergraduate course at some of the best and most innovative European universities, including NOVA and some of its partners. Students are guaranteed progression to the first year of a relevant degree at one of these partner Universities, provided the progression criteria are met.

The UEHS Foundation Program is our University's unique offer dedicated to those candidates whose language skills are still not sufficient to start a regular degree program. Foundation Program is carefully designed in order to help you improve your English and basic academic skills to the level required to enter any of the UEHS regular Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programs.

Do you work in a school, college, alternative provision or in early years setting? Do you work with children and young people who have special educational needs and disabilities, or those with differentiated and/or additional needs up to the age of 25 years? This two-year foundation degree explores the requirements of the Special Educational Need and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice and considers the voice and needs of the child or young person.

Having reached its fourth edition, the University for Foreigners of Siena has launched a one-year preparatory educational program named “Foundation Year” as recommended by the General Directorate for Higher Education Inclusion and Right to Study of the Italian Ministry for Universities and Research. Such a preparatory course aims at representing an ideal bridge in order to facilitate students with different educational backgrounds who wish to enroll in Italian Universities and Academies. The Foundation Year aims at offering students a solid preparation in Linguistics, Pedagogy, Philology and Literature, History, and Art Studies. Taking into consideration learners’ prospective studies, specific study programs based on macro-disciplinary contents might be additionally planned and implemented.

Our Foundation Studies Programme provides a path to undergraduate-level study. Partnered with Victoria University of Wellington, UP Education has been delivering foundation programmes for over 20 years. All teachers are trained and registered with the Teachers Council of New Zealand.

Did you stop studying in high school but have the desire to start tertiary education? Our Foundation Program has been developed to bridge the gap between high school and tertiary studies. While completing the Foundation Program, you will study units and practice skills required for academic success in the SIBT Diploma Program (equivalent to one year of University studies). Some of the Foundation units you select will depend on the Diploma you wish to study.
