Dentistry (Integrated Studies BA+MA)
The Program of Dentistry is aimed at educating dentists, which is a state-regulated profession. It’s design is in accordance with the general requirements for the integrated studies which are set out in the valid legal documents of the Republic of Lithuania and are also fully consistent with the requirements laid down in the European Directive 2005/36/EC. The Program in Dentistry encompasses compulsory subjects of theoretical and practical teaching. Each discipline tries to maintain a balance between the theoretical and the practical approach in order to maintain the level of university education.
Upon completion of this integrated studies program, you will receive a Dental doctor in Odontology and a Master in Health Sciences
Admission requirements
The applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be considered for admission:
- They must take an entrance examination. The examination is conducted online on 2023 m - February 23, 2023, 14:00 (UTC+2) / April 13, 2023, 14:00 (UTC+3) / June 22, 2023, 14:00 (UTC+3).
- An applicant must register for the examination and choose a suitable date.
- If an applicant has taken either the SAT Subject Test in Biology E/M or the MCAT test, not earlier than 2 years before the submission of the application, the applicant can apply without taking the entrance examination (the SAT and MCAT scores remain valid for 2 years).
Minimum applicable score in the SAT Biology Test: 550
Minimum applicable score in the MCAT Test: 490 - Applicants applying through the agencies that are in cooperation with VU, including MediStart, StudiMed and Med-Prep Europe, are not obliged to take an entrance examination. Those applicants can apply following the completion of either a Biology or Chemistry/Physics course at the secondary education level.
- Completion of a Biology (or Natural Science/Science) course at the secondary education level is compulsory.
- Completion of either a Physics, Mathematics or Chemistry course at the secondary education level is an advantage.
- Applicants who have graduated from a Biomedical Sciences/Health Sciences programme can apply with completion of either a Biology or Chemistry/Physics course at the secondary education level. Please submit your diploma and transcripts when you are applying. It will be decided if an additional entrance examination is required on an individual basis.
- Applicants taking an entrance examination are not required to submit any additional English language proficiency document.

Qualification awarded: Dental Doctor in Odontology, Master in Health Sciences
A doctor of Dental Medicine possesses skills in using main clinical methods, including taking and writing a medical case history, performing intraoral and extraoral examination, interpretation of patients’ case history results, physical, laboratory and instrumental examination, identification of patients problems, determination of preliminary diagnosis, assessment and treatment plans. He/she also possesses the main clinical skills, as well as scientific research, communication, professional ethics, informational technology skills.

- A graduate will be able to work in all areas of clinical dentistry
