The Department of Historical Studies has a longstanding commitment to creating and developing innovative and sustainable linkages between teaching, research and social dissemination of academic knowledge. It patiently and systematically trains graduate students in the art of writing empirically solid, conceptually alive and socially relevant histories through a diverse but balanced platter of coursework, a series of lively seminars, workshops, conferences, and colloquia, and intimate and meticulous supervision of primary research. This Program aims to provide tax professionals with advance knowledge of South African taxes and relevant tax topics as they arise from contemporary business or other transactions.

This Program offers the student with a four-year BDiv, a BThHons or equivalent qualification, the opportunity of theological specialisation and research at master's level. The coursework modules, in case of the coursework master's degree, provide the opportunity to acquire specialist skills in the practical field of the Ministry.

LLM specialising in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa admits up to 30 students annually, with scholarships available. Focused on human rights and democratisation in Africa, it offers core modules, research training, and a mini-dissertation, preparing graduates to drive meaningful impact across the continent.

LLM specialising in International Trade and Investment Law in Africa Coursework is a selection programme and only selected applicants will be admitted to the programme.

The Faculty of Theology and Religion is one of the leading theological institutions in South Africa and in Africa at large. It is known for its quality research, relevant teaching and learning programmes, and community engagement, especially through its Centres.

The Department of Metallurgy maintains strong links with the metal industry within South Africa, providing undergraduates with exposure to a wide range of metal-related operations. The exposure equips graduates with sound knowledge of metal production, design, and manufacture.

The Department’s lecturers are involved in a variety of industry bodies and associations, and this close association keeps the programmes relevant. These include the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), the Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA).

An MScAgric degree in Production Physiology and Product Quality offers opportunity to conduct research on aspects of animal growth, adaptation and reproduction physiology of farm animals and game, with a focus on animal products and the quality thereof. Physiological aspects of the animal under extensive and intensive livestock production systems in South Africa and / or Southern Africa may be part of the research in these projects. Projects in this program offer opportunities for inter disciplinary research.

Our first-of-its-kind, completely online Master of Public Health programme aims to empower health professionals to analyse, strategise and offer solutions to public health challenges in South Africa and around the globe. You will study environmental health, occupational health and epidemiological threats and risks. Our curriculum is comparable with programmes offered at internationally accredited schools of public health but with a curriculum tailored to South African and sub-Saharan legislation, health imperatives and economic environment.

The MPhil in Social Policy and Development is an interdisciplinary Master's coursework and research program that is intended to build your knowledge and practice capacity in developing and analyzing social policies and interventions intended to address social development challenges at the national, community, and household level in South Africa and the Southern African region. The course will also have applicability to other development contexts.
