Program description

This multi-disciplinary program provides opportunities for students to understand a number of important issues facing Canada’s agri-food sector, including but not limited, to improvement of traditional foods and food processing; development of novel functional foods and nutraceuticals using advanced technologies; and conversion of underutilized agriculture materials into value-added bioproducts. This focus is in keeping with a contemporary emphasis on non-fossil fuel, climate change and the environment, water safety and quality, food safety and quality, and health and wellness. The program also reflects the tight integration of microbiology and food and bioproduct sciences with respect to production, quality assurance and safety.

  •  Grade12 Biology 
  •  Grade12 Chemistry 
  •  Grade12 Mathematics  or  Grade12 Precalculus 

Required Courses:_x000D_ Biology 30_x000D_ Chemistry 30_x000D_ Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre-Calculus 30 (or equivalents)_x000D_ _x000D_ In addition to the Required Courses for admission, some university courses have a high school pre-requisite. _x000D_ Students can be admitted into this college with one subject deficiency that must be cleared before the second year of study. Students who have graduated from a recognized two-year agriculture diploma program may be admitted with more than one high school deficiency._x000D_
