Program description

The programme enables students to learn how to take a critical perspective on current theory and practice, to analyse complex human resource management (HRM) problems and to devise creative solutions to them.

The overall philosophy and aims of this course, following those laid down by the CIPD, are to articulate the knowledge and competence required to undertake a professional HRM or development role, acting as a ‘business partner’ and adding value to the objectives of the organisation's HR professionals work for.

A related key objective is the establishment, monitoring and promotion of standards and ethics as defined in the CIPD’s qualifications at Advanced Level. We achieve these aims by encouraging students to critically evaluate HR policies and practices from differing ideological perspectives. In this way, students develop analytical and critical skills that enable them to help organisations adapt to changing conditions.
