Program description

Aviation (BBA)

Successful pilots and business people have a lot in common — they are skilled communicators, develop plans for success, assess conditions, and anticipate change. Take your passion for flight to new heights with UFV Aviation’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

You get to graduate with a bachelor’s degree, private pilot’s license, commercial pilot’s license, and several ratings that enable you to fly multiple types of aircraft in varying conditions. Program content

Throughout the program, you take a combination of flight training, aviation theory, and academic courses. You complete your flight training at an external flight training provider.

In your first year, you earn your private and commercial pilot’s licenses; in your third and fourth year, you fly multi-engine aircraft, master instrumentation, and specialize with either a Heavy Jet Transport or Professional Flight Instructor option.

You also build an academic foundation through UFV courses in business and economics supplemented by courses in science, English, social science, and the humanities to prepare to assume management responsibilities in the aerospace industry.

Career opportunities

After graduation, you may fly planes for corporate travel or charter flights for one of Canada's 800 on-demand aviation service providers. Or you may work as a flight instructor, medevac pilot, airline courier, or travel tourism pilot.

Once you have flight hours under your belt, you may fly jumbo jets for major airlines, serve as a corporate jet captain, or become something more unique like an aerial fire ranger. You can also leverage your administrative skills to pursue a career as an airport
