Doctor of Philosophy Research Programme
The Doctor of Philosophy Research Programme at the UUM College of Arts and Sciences in Malaysia is a full-research education programme provided offered to students interested in gaining an in-depth knowledge on a topic through writing a research thesis.
Students without sufficient research skills who are enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy Research Programme must complete education courses in Academic Writing and Research Methodology during their first year. The education programme requires students to present and defend their proposed thesis/ research to a committee; present progress reports of research work at colloquiums arranged by the Graduate School or College; and produce at least 2 articles.
The Doctor of Philosophy Research Programme allows students to choose one of two options. The first option requires that at least 1 of a student's articles must be accepted for publication in Scopus or ISI Journal, and another article placed under review for publication in a refereed journal. The second option requires students to have 2 articles published in a refereed journal.
All students enrolled in this Doctor of Philosophy Research Programme must attend a viva session to defend their thesis and then submit their final thesis.
