Master’s Degree in Research and Nursing Care for Vulnerable Populations

The Master’s Degree in Research into Nursing Care for Vulnerable People is a postgraduate taught 60 ECTS programme with a research profile applied to Nursing care contexts. Its main objective is the advance learning directed to develop research skills related to vulnerable people care: women and children, people with chronic diseases, elderly and people with disabilities, migration and social exclusion.

This Master programme also provides access to Doctorate studies.

The Master of Research and Nursing Care with Vulnerable People offers courses structured in 4 compulsory modules: Research Methods (18 ECTS), Theoretical Models (6 ECTS), Advanced Nursing Practice (15 ECTS) and a module of elective courses (6 ECTS).

This Master has as its main objective a deep study about the needs of people in vulnerable conditions. In the current social and economic context, the nursing discipline makes a commitment with the development of a greater competence to identify and to address the disproportionate burden of health and social disparities in society, in order to contribute to the social transformation. The vulnerable people are specially exposed to these health and social disparities and to difficulties in accessing health services.

Admission requirements

The criteria for assessment to be admitted to the Master's Degree in Research and Nursing Care in Vulnerable Populations will be:
- Academic record (70%).
- Curriculum vitae: professional experience, scientific production, other merits (stays abroad, postgraduate training received, etc.) (15%).
- English level B1 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) (15%).
The criteria will only be taken into account if the registration quota is not covered.
On the other hand, the Master´s Academic Committee can implement a list of substitutes, in order of merit, to cover the possible resignation by part or one of the students enrolled. In addition, the Admission Commission can assess the possibility of the need for personal interviews.As specific access conditions for the Master's Degree in Nursing Research and Care in Vulnerable Populations, it is necessary
be in possession of an university degree of Diploma in Nursing or Degree in Nursing.
