BSc (Hons) in Criminology and Criminal Justice

The criminology undergraduate degree will give you the opportunity to examine the many factors involved in criminal behaviour, and how society responds through the criminal justice system.

You will study the most important theories of crime and deviance and their relevance to contemporary criminal justice policy, research, and practice.

Alongside this, you will gain an in-depth knowledge of the structures of the criminal justice system, covering the courts, prison, the probation service, and the police.

Throughout your studies, you will develop excellent research and analytical skills and learn to present your ideas effectively both verbally and in writing.

Admission requirements

Our standard offer for our criminology programs is 3 A Levels at grades ranging from ABB-BBB or equivalent. For applicants whose first language is not English we require a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent).

Swansea University English Language Training

Swansea University's English Language Training services offer a variety of English courses including pre-sessionals, year round English, exam preparation and short courses. If you hold an offer from Swansea University you are able to take the Swansea English Language Test (SWELT) to fulfil your English language entry requirement. This is a 3 hour test which includes Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
