This specialist degree can help you to develop a strong grounding in psychology (the scientific study of mind and behavior) while at the same time building the foundation of knowledge required to pursue high-level study in the areas of counselling, mental health support and mental wellbeing.

This course course is accredited by The British Psychological Society. The curriculum explores the scientific methods used to assess, understand and address various psychological issues - such as depression, psychosis and post-traumatic stress disorder - and the risk factors related to the development of psychopathological disorders.

Admission requirements

This course is ideally suited to those who wish to pursue a career in clinical or counselling psychology, mental health support or psychological wellbeing.

English language requirements

Applicants who do not have English as their first language will be required to demonstrate an approved level of proficiency in the use of the English language. The agreed minimum requirements for this course are:

  • IELTS minimum 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each individual component
  • TOEFL IBT minimum 80 with a minimum of 20 in each individual component
  • Duolingo English Language Test - 100 overall with minimum of 90 in each component
  • or equivalent.
