  • The new fast-tracked degree program at PCiBs allows you to study subjects that will interest students in our active learning processes while also getting a degree faster. The intake for each teaching period is sequential, and all topics are based on scenario-based learning, with all subjects focusing on competency-based learning.
  • Students can complete this graduate certificate within two (2) semesters.

The Graduate Certificate in General Business (Administration) is a stepping stone towards a Graduate Diploma in General Business (Administration) and ultimately a Masters degree; to earn it, you must complete the first four courses of our online Masters of General Business (Administration) degree program.

On campus studies are available as a bespoke option.

Lectures are in English, and we have no face-to-face classes. However, if you attend the classes, they are live and online!

Admission requirements

Admission requirements for Undergraduate:

  • Age: Minimum age 18 years
  • Recognition of Previous (RPL) Study: All documents need to be certified / notarized. All non-English documents must have a certified and evaluated English translation attached to the application.
  • English level: For non-English speaking students, TOEFL / IELTS or equivalent is required for students who did not study at English speaking school. The Admission Committee will also consider factors such as TOEFL/IELTS scores.

NOTE:

  • No TOEFL / IELTS or other scores are needed if you use ourPCiBS English teacherto teach you English (TEFL) while you study at PCiBS. Our TEFL subject matter expert (SME) will teach and guide you with communication through-out the course(s) (if required) and will attract additional fees per lesson.

All PCiBS’ programs are conducted in English and all correspondence will be in English.

Admission requirements for Post- graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree:

  • Any Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution
  • A professional qualification that is equivalent to a diploma / degree and a minimum of two years of working experience

OR

  • Previous work experience in the field of Project Management (minimum 5 years) demonstrated through a CV
  • Acceptance Advantage: Two letters of recommendation by your peers to start your postgraduate studies explaining your experience and why you would undertake to start these studies.

PLUS

Core

Entrepreneurial Innovation

This course discusses entrepreneurial creativity, leadership, innovation and identification of opportunities: develop the creativity role; techniques to facilitate creativity; barriers to creativity; creative versus critical thinking. We discuss the need for creativity and the reasons why organizations should encourage creativity in the business world. We investigate the difference between personality and creativity. We discuss innovation in companies, the why and the what, plus developing innovation and the innovation process. Problem solving within innovation and identification of opportunities: development and opportunity identification; idea development process; evaluate and prioritize ideas, ideation and design thinking. Creativity within innovation; design thinking towards facilitating business innovation. The course addresses opportunities, research around opportunities and analyzing information to get into business. Apply design thinking techniques to match how business innovation is transformed into new products, services and or processes. We look at legal and financial issues, including preparing a business plan. Expose various managerial challenges; different ways if going into business; how to do market research; analyze opportunities, draft a business plan; including financing and the legal considerations. Finally, we address some key management functions in starting up a new venture.

Project Management Fundamentals

This course deals with the basic principles of project management and introduces the students to the project management discipline. It focuses on the basic requirements of setting up projects. It focuses on managing portfolios, a program and multiple projects for project management companies. The course follows a structured manner and allows students to develop their competencies for the specific discipline in question. The main aim of the course in to demonstrate proficiency in this discipline to ensure that the student can be a valuable asset to any project that they are involved with.

The course Introduces Project management concepts; needs identification; the project life cycles; the project manager and the project team; types of project organisations; project communication and document control. Estimating, Costing and Planning and control: planning, scheduling and schedule control of projects; resource considerations and allocations; cost planning and performance evaluation. It focuses on Risks, procurement, human resources, quality, communication, stakeholders and integration management.
