About this program
MSc in Nuclear Engineering
The aim of the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) program in Nuclear Engineering is to prepare engineers with skills necessary to design, build and operate power generation plants, radioactive waste treatment plants, systems using radiation for industrial, medical and research applications, etc. The educational program, therefore, gives emphasis both to topics referring to energy applications, (i.e. fission and fusion plants, nuclear fuel, materials and safety) and to those related to non-energy applications, as in medical and industrial use of radiation, physics of matter, plasma physics and nanotechnologies with strong connections with the Nuclear Engineering field.
Admission requirements
BSc in Energy Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematical Engineering, Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Engineering with knowlegde of basic nuclear education.
Students With A University Qualification Obtained Outside Italy
Applicants to Master of Science programs are required to have a Bachelor Degree or be in the process of completing a Bachelor Degree. Admitted applicants will have to graduate before the enrollment.
Your undergraduate level program must contain subjects closely related to the MSc program you are applying to.
An English Or Italian Language Proficiency Certificate
If your bachelor Degree was taught in English, you may upload a document certified by your university attesting the teaching language instead of the language certificate.
Country-Specific Requirements Related To Your Degree
If you studied in one of the countries listed in the institute wesbite, please read carefully the information and the details about the documents to be provided. If the country where you have completed/are studying your Bachelor Degree is not listed in the institute website then there is no Country-specific requirements.
The requirements (minimum GPA included) are strict, and no exceptions will be considered.
Foreign Students With A University Qualification Obtained In Italy
If you have an Italian university qualification you may be admitted to graduate Degree courses under the same conditions as Italian students.
For more information about admission requirements, please visit the institute website.

Career paths
The graduates in Nuclear Engineering, thanks to the Laurea Magistrale multidisciplinary training, can easily be employed in the nuclear sector (e.g. industries operating in nuclear power plants design, construction and operation, in nuclear decommissioning and nuclear waste processing and disposal, in design and construction of radiation sources, in centers for nuclear fusion and high-energy physics), as well as in other areas such as the energy industry, the medical sector, the health, safety and environment sector (e.g. engineering companies, hospitals, consultancy and risk analysis firms) and also research centers and universities.
