Program description

You can make a difference to the world with an Open Polytechnic Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Management. This graduate certificate will help you advance your career by giving you practical skills in environmental law and management. You'll learn how to analyse environmental issues and find out how environmental management assists with sustainability. This graduate certificate is also a stepping stone to the Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Management, which will enable you to complete a research project in an environmental area of your interest.

What you will learn

When you achieve this qualification you will have an industry overview of the legislative and regulatory environments that govern development activities, including key management tools that are currently available to deal with a variety of environmental issues of significance in New Zealand.

Admission requirements

You can apply for admission into this programme if you have an undergraduate degree or at least 5 years’ experience in an environmental role.

If you have achieved the Open Polytechnic Bachelor of Applied Science (Environment) or a similar qualification, you will be unable to study the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Management (Level 7).

IELTS test – a score of 6 (Academic) with no band score lower than 5.5

Cambridge English Qualifications - B2 First, or B2 First for Schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill.
