Why Study Fine Art?

As one of the concentrations in the art major at North Park, fine arts combines art history with learning different art forms, like drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and more. You can use these skills to pursue a career as a professional artist, teacher, curator, nonprofit worker, and more.

Admission requirements

At minimum, all prospective students are recommended to meet these admission standards for grade point average (GPA) and standardized test scores:

  • Cumulative high school GPA: 2.75 (unweighted)
  • Cumulative college GPA (transfer students): 2.5 (based on 12 or more transferable credits)

First-year students who do not meet the minimum requirements above may need to provide additional information such as an interview and/or be considered for provisional admission.

Scholarships & funding

In honor of our heritage, North Park offers a special scholarship for Scandinavian students.  Students applying for any of our music, art, or theatre programs can apply for an additional art scholarship!


The tuition fee for this program is $31,430 per year.

Continuing studies

Recent graduates have pursued master of fine arts (MFA) degrees at Washington University, University of Illinois, Indiana University, Pratt School of Art, New York Academy of Art, and University of New Mexico.
