About this program
Medicine (Pre)
As a pre-med student, youll conduct original research and gain the solid scientific foundation you need. Youll also develop the communication skills to be able to speak with confidence, whether youre volunteering in an emergency department or presenting research at a peer conference. Your professors will work with you every step of the way as you make important decisions about applying for internships, joining student organizations, studying abroad and ultimately choosing the medical school thats right for you.
You can also:
- Volunteer at medical facilities within walking distance of our centrally located campus.
- Join the student-run Pre-Health Organization, which brings health professionals to campus to speak with students interested in medicine and arranges volunteer activities at area hospitals and clinics.
- Pursue study abroad opportunities at institutions such as Macquarie University in Australia, The University of Limerick in Ireland, The University of Ghana and Englands Canterbury Christ Church University, The University of Essex, and The University of Sunderland.
- Apply for a Richter Independent Study Fellowship grant to fund your research interests locally or abroad. Recent projects include travel to China to research health care options.
