Human Resources Development Policies

The Master's in human Resources and Development Policies offers a solid and interdisciplinary training which aims at connecting the macro and microeconomic approach to employment and human resources. the Master's is already twenty years old and has had 14 editions and the design of its curriculum has grown from the belief that the issues and themes related to human resources go beyond the borders of a subject area. Since its creation, this Master's has been strengthening its market space, representing a 2nd cycle alternative for different scientific domains.

The Master's in Human Resources and Development Policies has the particularity of mingling the macro and microeconomic perspectives in what concerns the themes of employment and human resources. The training offered associates the multiple subject areas that assist in the acquisition of analytical skills and technical tools for the interventions in the professional areas of employment and human resources. Side by side with the economic framework of economic policies in general, this course also offers an approach to the employment and human resources market policies of the companies. In this sense, it brings together the functional approach to human resources, through Human Resources Management, and the economic interpretation of those practices provided by Human Resources Economics. It also counts on the contributes of Psychology and law, which offer other analysis viewpoints of human resources.

This Master's is aimed at employees who intend to enhance their knowledge and skills in the domain of Economics and Human Resources Management. Nevertheless, due to the recent changes to the higher education system, the Master's has attracted younger workers and graduates who seek for a broader specialization in the area of human resources.


This Master's objectives are:
  • Update and increase the knowledge and efficient tools of human resources planning and development;
  • Connect employment public policies and human resources management;
  • Approach current themes regarding employment and human resources.
