Construction Engineering
Due to Coronavirus pandemic, HAMK has made it possible for new students to start their studies in the autumn as online studies from their home countries and arrive to Finland for on campus studies in January 2021. In addition, it is possible to pay the tuition fee in three installments.
Construction Engineering degree program students focus on structural engineering, especially on steel construction. Steel Constructions studies include lots of mechanics, mathematics, technical drawings and CAD. Understanding of the structures, and 3-D visualization skills will develop during the studies. A degree completed in Englishh provides construction engineers with good language skills and international know-how, making it possible to work anywhere in the world.

Scholarships & funding
HAMK’s scholarship program is Available for the nationals of non-EU and non-EEA countries who Are studying for A degree in HAMK’s Englishh-taught degree programs. The nationals of non-EU and non-EEA countries are obliged to pay the annual tuition fee.
From 1.1.2020 onwards, HAMK grants scholarships based on Finnish language skills. The scholarship program awards students who gain at least the basic skills of Finnish language during their degree studies at HAMK. The aim of HAMK’s scholarship program is to support the future employment of international degree students in Finland by encouraging students to gain good level of Finnish language during their studies.
Students can be awarded with a scholarships two times during their studies, based on their level of Finnish language and provided that their studies progress with 60 ECTS credits per academic year. The Finnish language skills are evaluated by exam results or HAMK’s Finnish language teacher’s written certificate.

Tuition fees
The full tuition price for local/EU students is Free of charge. The price for International/Non-EU students is 9700 EUR.
Career opportunities
The tasks of engineering graduates may be related to the construction of new premises and to the repair of existing structures in engineering or project management in Finland and abroad. Daily tasks may involve design, product development, supervision in an official capacity, or trading. Construction professionals constantly monitor developments in the sector, they are familiar with the latest design and production techniques and can manage modern management techniques, and they are capable of applying them to practical situations at work.
