Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management

This degree offers a real-world approach to business studies that includes 2 semester internships and 25 hands-on workshops covering every aspect of hospitality. It will prepare you to be a business leader or entrepreneur in service industry sectors where a delightful customer experience is key to success.

Dual Excellence for Career Readiness

This program takes you on an active learning journey that combines operational training and applied management courses with challenging academic projects, led by industry-expert faculty members. Career-focused electives and a Student Business (consultancy) Project allow you to practice in the real world as you build your network and expertise.

Choice of International Locations & Pathways

You can study on EHL’s campuses in Switzerland or gain a global perspective in Singapore. Depending on your learning preferences and career goals, you can follow the traditional Academic Pathway or choose the Professional Pathway, which includes more internships and hospitality training.

Ready for the Future

Focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship, this program includes a Research & Development workshop, Innovation Village resources, and an option to intern in your own startup. It develops valuable soft skills for the unknown future, such as agility, communication and team-work skills, and the art of persuasion, preparing you to be a leader in any business environment. EHL also has online options for all academic courses on its bachelor’s degree, making it possible for students to study remotely, if required.

Program content

The following list of courses is provided for general information, but specific course titles/themes may be subject to change.

Preparatory Year

The first semester is composed of 25 hands-on workshops that immerse you in the world of hospitality operations. ourse examples: Bakery & pastry making, Housekeeping, Rooms division operations, Michelin star experience, Fine dining cuisine, R&D design lab, Fine dining restaurant & lounge bar, etc.

The second semester is an Operations Internship, which allows you to practice the skills and knowledge gained on campus. It can be done in Switzerland* or abroad, must be done in a hospitality company, and should include positions such as Kitchen, Service, Housekeeping, Reception, etc.

Semester 4 Administrative Internship

This internship offers you to take on greater responsibilities and apply the administrative and management concepts you have learned in class to real world hospitality projects, teams and departments. It can be completed in Switzerland or abroad, in any type of company, in roles such as Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Revenue Management, etc.

Become an Intern in your own start-up: Instead of the management internship, you can choose to be an intern in your own start-up project, dedicating all of your time and energy to developing your business concept and getting it running with the guidance of faculty members.

Semester 6 Tailor-made specialization & Student Business Project

During your final semester, you can choose three elective courses depending on your interest and career aspirations, so you can tailor make your skills sets depending on where you hope to go after graduation.

In the final semester, you have the choice of undertaking a business project or personal thesis project. For the Student Business Project (SBP), you act as a business consultant working in a group of students to solve a real-world business challenge for an industry partner.
