Master of Science Geomatics

Delft University of Technology

Program description

Master of Science Geomatics

Our dynamic world is driven by information. Today, the geographical coordinates of different types of objects - buildings, roads, property boundaries, water pipes, and even trees - are being stored. This so-called geo-information is considered an essential resource by both government and industry, where it is constantly used for decision-making. Geomatics is the science and technology of three-dimensional acquisition, processing and application of geo-information.

The two-year Master of Science programme in Geomatics educates students to become multidisciplinary experts, who will contribute to the entire geo-information chain. They will be capable of collecting, processing and applying geo-information for a large number of industrial, governmental and research purposes. The Geomatics programme is very internationally oriented, with participants from countries all over the world.

Graduates in Geomatics have a qualification in a very new, exciting and modern field of expertise. Therefore, they have excellent career opportunities and are eagerly sought after for positions such as business consultants, data analysts, geo-information specialists, project managers and engineers. Graduates are working at local and national government agencies, as well as in the private sector with industrial and consultancy firms, and at universities and research institutes.
