About this program

Master in Advanced European and International Studies – Applied European Policy and Governance Studies – Nice-Canterbury-Berlin

The programme encompasses four academic teaching modules, professional skills workshops, academic skills workshops, career coaching and networking events, language classes, a study trip and various excursions. International guest lecturers, experts from various European and international organisations, as well as researchers from partner institutions contribute to the programme.

Admission requirements

Language requirements

The programme is taught in two languages: French and English. Therefore, candidates must have an active command of English and French. Students choosing the trilingual option also need German language proficiency. The following documents are required:

English

  • The test report from one of the following institutions issued no more than two years prior to your course start date.
    • IELTS test report at 6.5 overall and with a minimum of 6.0 in Reading and Writing and 5.5 in Speaking and Listening
    • PTE Academic test report at 62 overall, including 60 in each subtest
    • Cambridge English at 176 overall in Advanced (C1) or Proficiency (C2) with a minimum of 169 in Reading and Writing and 162 in Speaking and Listening. OR
  • Qualification equivalent to a UK Bachelor's degree in a majority English-speaking country.

French

  • A recent certificate from a language school or institute (e.g. Institut Français) OR
  • At least one reference from your professor(s), stating your level of language competence OR
  • A certificate proving that you have studied at least one academic year at a French-speaking university.

German

Students choosing the trilingual option shall submit proof of German language proficiency accordingly.

Program delivery

A one-year programme from October to July in 3 different cities + optional professional internship (max. 3 months to be completed by 30 September)

  • Trimester 1 in Nice (France): October to December
  • Trimester 2 in Canterbury (United Kingdom): January to April
  • Extended study trip to Brussels in March/April
  • Trimester 3 in Berlin (Germany): April to July

Tuition

The overall tuition fees of the Master of Advanced European and International Studies - Applied European Policy and Governance Studies – amount to 8,900 €.

Qualification

Graduates receive two certifications:

  • The Master in Advanced European and International Studies - Applied European Policy and Governance Studies. This is the diploma of CIFE as a private institute of higher education, certifying the successful completion of the academic curriculum and granting 60 ECTS at Master level.
  • The degree qualification "Policy Officer in European and International Organisations" (level 7 EQF), recognised by the French state.
