The Culture and Creative Industries (CCI) have helped turn Berlin into one of Europe's most attractive metropolis for creative professionals and young talent. The lively and dynamic artistic and cultural scene has led Berlin to become a Creative City, with new spaces regularly opening up and increasing revenues being generated as a result. Start-ups from the worlds of fashion, design, architecture and marketing as well as larger and more established companies operating in the realms of music, IT, gaming and media all use Berlin as the hub to reach new customers in their respective markets. Adding to Berlin's appeal is its affordable locational factors, its low cost of living, and of course the allure of being a hip, international and tolerant city.
The "Management of Creative Industries" master's program has been specifically designed to span several sectors of the creative industry. It's the first study program to employ a holistic approach to proactively address the dramatic changes soon to affect the industry and runs successfully for 4 years at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences. The course structure is accommodating for those already working in the industry, because the lectures take place on Friday and Saturday. Seminars and lectures are held in English - the working language of most companies active in the CCI.
Admission requirements
The study program is open to:
- German and International Bachelor Graduates from the Creative Industries (e. g. film, music or the games industry, marketing, IT, fashion, design or architecture).
- Bachelor Graduates of Corporate Communications, Media-, Fashion-, Tourism- and Event- Management, or alumni from bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences.
- Young Professionals with a Bachelor's Degree and experience in the Creative Industries interested in furthering their skills or switching career paths for new business opportunities.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) of at least six semesters at a university (or equivalent institution), a technical college in Germany, or an equivalent institution abroad with a minimum grade: "Satisfactory" is required for acceptance into the Management of Creative Industries Master's Program.
- Good English language skills on Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages are required for the course. This language proficiency can be demonstrated with the following certificates:
- IELTS exam: minimum score of 5.5 - 6
- TOEIC: score of 541 - 700
- TOEFL iBT: minimum score 87
- PTE: minimum score 59
- Our register office will proof the certificate on the basic of Common European Framework of Reference. We can't accept the medium of instruction from universities or companies. Special regulations apply to the graduates of the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences.
German language skills are not required for the Management of Creative Industries Master's Programme. However, a visa and residence permit is necessary to study in Germany.
