Considering a music transfer degree as an option? TCC offers an Associate of Arts (DTA) degree with a Music Specialization. The following course set fulfills the requirement of the Specialization in Music for the Associate of Arts Degree and provides a clear, music-focused pathway for students to chain music courses together in a meaningful and transfer-relevant way. This specialization prepares students to transfer as Bachelor of Arts in Music majors, or Bachelor of Arts majors. It also prepares students with a solid framework of music knowledge, allowing them to potentially enter the music industry workforce.

The Music degree at Jamestown Community College prepares you to transfer and earn a four-year degree in music or a music-related field. You can pursue careers such as musician, performer, sound technician, music director, music composer, film producer, theatre manager, teacher, and arts administrator.

Laney College offers four Music A.A. Degrees and a variety of Certificates of Achievement. Current degree summaries and course requirements are linked below. Be sure to consult with a counselor and the Music Department Chair when beginning a new program. Those interested in completing the AA-T should enroll in Music 150 instead of piano, voice, guitar, or percussion classes. Look for the section of Music 150 that meets at the same time as the piano, voice, guitar, or percussion class it replaces.

The Music AA-T at GWC is designed to prepare students to successfully transfer to a CSU campus as Music Majors. Due to the fact that Music Majors begin major coursework in the freshman year, students must successfully complete all of the required courses and pass a keyboard proficiency test to be awarded the Music AA-T.

Music is a broad-based academic discipline with foundational coursework in theory and performance. By providing a theoretical understanding of the development and creation of music, along with requisite technical proficiency, it is expected that these skills will be used to demonstrate musical sensitivity and creativity as a soloist or in the context of a musical ensemble. To further foster these skills, optional courses in the areas of piano and music history should also be taken.

At Music Business Management, you can specialize in an area of the music industry that interests you and gain the competence to work with music both in the Nordic region and internationally. Music Business Management is a two-year vocational education for those who want to learn about the Nordic and international music industry.

This new course combines the best knowledge and expertise from LCCM’s long-running music performance & production degree but with less emphasis on music theory and original instrumentation. The one-year programme combines a core module learning music programming and gaining important industry knowledge with optional modules in vocal performance, songwriting, artist development, music rights, the streaming economy, digital trends and mix concepts.

This Diploma of Higher Education in Music will broaden and deepen your understanding of music through the study of a wide range of genres (including Western art music, jazz, popular music, and non-western music). You’ll combine practical activities, which involve making your recordings, with learning about the scientific basis for music and how it is heard and perceived.

Studying electronic music production at Musicians Institute will open you up to opportunities not attainable anywhere else. Why? Simply, there’s no other program and curriculum that teaches contemporary music with the connections that we have.

Skagit Valley College offers a number of music courses for the major and non-major. The student who wishes to major in music should meet with Dr. Diane Johnson and plan a two-year program that will meet his or her transfer needs. Be aware that when transferring to a four-year school or to a music conservatory, students will be asked to take a music theory placement test as well as a piano proficiency examination. Your academic preparation for a music major should include music theory and piano study as well as ear training. Music majors are expected to practice their craft all four years of college and not just in junior and senior years as with some other majors. Because of this, careful academic planning is advised.
