This MA in Interpreting is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the contexts and practices of professional interpretation, enabling students to develop the skills upon which professional interpreter competence is predicated. The Master's Degree in Conference Interpreting, the only official master's degree in Spain that is a member of the European Masters in Conference Interpreting (EMCI) consortium, offers solid training through permanent contact with conference interpreting professionals and the use of the latest methodological and technological advances. It follows the recommendations of the International Association of Conference Interpreters AIIC Best Practices and has been re-accredited by ANECA.

The Specialised Translation with Professional Experience MA is a unique two-year course that offers you the opportunity to complete an extended work placement and gain professional experience.

The curriculum Interpreting and Technologies for Communication (InTeCo) is part of the Master’s program in Interpreting. The Master’s program also includes a separate curriculum in Conference interpreting (ConfInt), which is taught in Italian and therefore will not be the focus here. InTeCo trains experts on technology-mediated interpreting.

Our Specialised Translation MA offers advanced training in preparation for a career in translation. This course is open to both native and non-native speakers of English who also speak any of the following languages: Chinese, French, German, Italian, or Spanish.

The Translation and Interpreting with Professional Experience MA is a unique two-year course that offers you the opportunity to complete an extended work placement and gain professional experience. Partnered with the Translation and Interpreting MA, you’ll complete the same taught modules as the one-year course with the addition of completing a minimum of 550 hours in a work placement or internship.

The Translation and Interpreting MA equips you with professional skills in translation and interpreting between English and Chinese, French, German, Italian, or Spanish. Through hands-on training, mock conferences, and a simulated translation bureau, you’ll develop expertise in specialised translation, conference and public service interpreting, and professional development, preparing you for a career in the industry.

The Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation aims to foster competent interpreters and translators who satisfy the domestic and overseas demands for interpretation and translation. The demands for professional interpreters and translators in this region are expected to significantly increase due to the relocation of The US Armed Forces bases in Korea to Pyeongtaek; the increased use of Pyeongtaek Port; the relocation of Samsung Electronics; the relocation of LG Electronics; the development of a new town; and the establishment of the Pyeongtaek Free Trade Zone. The Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation is comprised of the Department of Korean-English Interpretation and Translation and the Department of Korean Language Education.

The purpose of the interpretation courses is to train conference interpreters who can work in the main international institutions. The faculty is mainly composed of conference interpreters.
