MCSYD trains researchers from any scientific (social and human and natural) or artistic discipline or profession, with a multidisciplinary approach on the traditions, customs, practices, and cultural and social uses of drugs, in contemporary societies, with emphasis on Latin America. The master's degree in Social Justice and Peacebuilding aims at theoretical reflection and generation of knowledge about social justice and peacebuilding processes as localized and useful social action for society, with proposals for organization, mobilization, and social transformation, with an impact on social inclusion, democratic relations and equity.

The Specialization in Education and Social Development is the result of an experience in the social and economic development of more than 25 years that the Foundation for the Application and Teaching of Sciences, FUNDAEC, the managing and accompanying institution of the University Center, has had. This experience has been centered on education, at all levels, for the effective participation of the population in their own development processes, both productive and organizational. Faced with the country's demanding situation of new educational alternatives for its professionals, and the very need expressed by many of them to broaden their vision of development and acquire tools that allow them to be true agents of change, we see it as imperative to take advantage of the extensive experience from FUNDAEC, this time at the graduate level.

A profession that recognizes and understands the situations of those who are most at risk, that bets on social change based on the potentialities of the subjects, building strategies that generate decent living conditions.

BA Political Science has as a mission the humanistic and critical training of political scientists founded in disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge through academic processes, research, and social projection. This will allow the understanding and transformation of the social and political problems of the country and the south Colombian region, looking to contribute to the construction of a more democratic society, inclusive and just that strives towards the achievement of peace and development.
