Key Summary
About: Specialization in Education and Social Development builds on FUNDAEC's more than 25 years of social and economic development experience. It trains professionals to facilitate learning among rural populations so participants become capable, committed agents of social transformation. The programme emphasizes science and technology processes, plus educational content and methods suited to current historical needs. It aims to enhance intellectual attributes and spiritual qualities within a service-to-community framework. Designed at the postgraduate level, it responds to professionals seeking broader development perspectives and practical tools to act as change agents in productive, organizational, and community development initiatives and regional policy influence goals.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can pursue roles such as community educator, development practitioner, educational programme coordinator, curriculum developer, NGO project manager, trainer, policy adviser, and social research analyst. These roles apply to rural education, community development, capacity-building, pedagogy, organizational development, and education policy within NGOs, civil society, government agencies, and educational institutions.
The Specialization in Education and Social Development is the result of an experience in the social and economic development of more than 25 years that the Foundation for the Application and Teaching of Sciences, FUNDAEC, the managing and accompanying institution of the University Center, has had. This experience has been centered on education, at all levels, for the effective participation of the population in their own development processes, both productive and organizational. Faced with the country's demanding situation of new educational alternatives for its professionals, and the very need expressed by many of them to broaden their vision of development and acquire tools that allow them to be true agents of change, we see it as imperative to take advantage of the extensive experience from FUNDAEC, this time at the graduate level.
