6 Construction Master's Degree Programs in Brazil

The Master Course in Construction Processes at Universidade FUMEC aims to contribute to the technological development of civil construction in the country, through the training of professionals in Civil Engineering and related areas and the development of research related to materials and construction processes. As a Professional Master's Degree, the course has the priority of developing a close relationship with companies in the construction sector, through consultancies and partnerships, in order to identify and meet their immediate demands, regarding the improvement in the performance of materials and construction techniques, always seeking to reduce costs, maximize its performance and sustainability.

The Postgraduate Program in Civil Engineering, at the Master's level, with an area of ​​concentration in Construction Engineering, corresponds to the result of the Evolution Process of the Department of Civil Engineering at UNICAP. The course in question intends to assist professionals in Civil Engineering, Architecture, as well as other areas that have some relationship with Civil Engineering, as long as they present research projects related to the lines that the Program offers, encouraging the development of research in the Northeast Region of Brazil. Brazil.

The Professional Master's course in Civil Engineering, recommended by CAPES at the 160th Meeting of the Technical-Scientific Council for Higher Education (CTC-ES), held from October 19 to 23, 2015, aims to improve the qualification of professionals for this area, to promote the improvement in the application of new and traditional materials, as well as to develop applied research in the area through the deepening and production of knowledge in the material science lines (of physical, chemical and structural qualities) and technology of materials, products, and applications in construction systems. This training must culminate in the elaboration of a Course Conclusion Paper, linked to one of the lines of research, presented in a public session to an examining board.

The Undergraduate Course in Civil Engineering can be completed in five years (10 periods) and is structured in such a way as to provide the classical theoretical foundations and the most advanced techniques currently applicable to solving problems in the area.

The Graduate Program in Civil Engineering (PROEC) at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) was authorized by CAPES on December 10, 2010, as stated in the Recommendation Form - APCN / CAPES, and officially began its activities on January 3, 2011, with the announcement of the Call for Applications for candidates for the academic master's course. The first class, with 10 students, started its activities on March 15, 2011. In 2018, there are already 33 regular students taking a master's degree in Civil Engineering at UFS.

The fundamental aspects that guided the creation of the course were solid theoretical concepts in the areas of structural calculation and mechanical manufacturing combined with practical classes in order to support the theoretical subjects taught in the classroom. This course was developed in line with the engineering sector of Vale do Rio Doce, which has had structural and manufacturing problems in its equipment. This partnership would make it possible to improve the company's practical knowledge combined with the theoreticians of PUC Minas in order to disseminate this knowledge with gains for the whole of society.
