Introduction

The Graduate Program in Civil Engineering (PROEC) at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) was authorized by CAPES on December 10, 2010, as stated in the Recommendation Form - APCN / CAPES, and officially began its activities on January 3, 2011, with the announcement of the Call for Applications for candidates for the academic master's course. The first class, with 10 students, started its activities on March 15, 2011. In 2018, there are already 33 regular students taking a master's degree in Civil Engineering at UFS.

The PROEC master's course focuses on Construction, which involves different specialties related to Civil Engineering. In this way, and according to the curricular matrix properly thought out, elaborated, and updated by the collegiate of the course, PROEC trains masters in Civil Engineering with five profile options, depending on the line of research chosen by the student: Structural Systems; Management and Environment; Geotechnical and Pavement Engineering; Environmental Sanitation and Water Resources; Materials technology. PROEC is governed by Resolution No. 055/2014 / CONEPE.
