Through the course, the students will immerse themselves in an animation technique of their choice: 2D, stop-motion or 3D computer animation. The subject mainly consists of group work where the task is to make a short film using the self-wading technique. The students first develop an idea and production plan, before starting the production itself. Through the work with the film production, which will be guided by subject teachers, the students will receive in-depth training in the animation technique they have chosen. There will be teaching sessions to support this training.

Figure drawing provides an introduction to basic knowledge of human proportion, anatomy, movement and composition. The main goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge of, and practice in, drawing based on principles of linear construction. The student shall make at least one minute of completed animation in a chosen technique or a combination of techniques. A shorter project may be accepted if it is made in classic 2D animation. No complete narrative is required, but the student shall through the work show skills and knowledge beyond a basic level in the chosen animation technique. The student takes part in an animation project related to the animation industry. It might be an advertising film, music video, a title sequence, a pilot for a program/series etc. The project can be made within the school or with an external producer/studio or as part of international exchange at an education partner abroad. The project must be accepted by the teacher in charge.
