This Ontario college graduate certificate program provides the theoretical and practical experience to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) in Canada and abroad. Course content includes language teaching, learning, pedagogical theories and methodologies, grammar, phonetics and phonology, lesson planning skills, language and culture, assessment, and evaluation. The theory is applied through observations and practice teaching ESL classes.

The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programmes at Knowsley Community College are designed for adult (19+) speakers whose first language is not English, who are living or trying to settle in England.

The goal of the English as a Second Language (ESL) certificate program is to enhance the English-language proficiency of non-native speakers of English. Instruction is focused on reading, writing, speaking, and grammatical accuracy of English as applied in personal, vocational, or academic contexts.

We provide English Language courses for students to study at university, polytechnic, or college in New Zealand or other English-speaking countries. Gain pathways to further study at the tertiary level.

The ESOL department offers a range of courses which will appeal to you if English is not your first language.

The ESOL School offers a wide range of courses from Entry Level 1 to Level 2, which will appeal to you if English is not your first language. The courses are taught by a strong team of highly qualified teachers who are very experienced, skilled and committed and will go the extra mile to support you.

ESOL courses are for people who do not have English as their first language and who want to improve their language skills to get more out of their life in the U.K.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is a program designed to help students improve their U.S. academic English skills.

Before studying English as an Adult Learner, your language skills will need to be assessed. At Joseph Chamberlain College, we offer English classes at Level 1 (Pre-GCSE) and Level 2 (GCSE Equivalent), so we will assess which level is the most suitable starting place for you.

WHAT TO EXPECT After taking a placement test during orientation week, you will be placed in one of five levels based on your results: beginner, high beginner, intermediate, high intermediate or advanced. Classes are held at UTSA’s Main Campus and are average sized giving you personalized attention.

The Intensive English Program is a non-credit program offered three times per year. Fall term (September to December/Part I, Part II), Spring term (January to May/Part I, Part II) and Summer term, 14 weeks each offered in two 7-week (May to August/Part I, Part II) blocks to allow the flexibility of elective curriculum choice.
