The aim of the program is to educate musicians who - with their performing skills, theoretical knowledge, and highly developed musical abilities - enrich and spread the Hungarian and European music culture. They can enrich the repertoire of musical knowledge with their sophisticated music taste and are able to work in music institutions, professional performance ensembles and in other occupations which require music education.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music is a liberal arts degree designed for those students who plan careers as musicians and who wish to enter graduate or professional music schools, or for those who wish to pursue music as a vocation. Performing areas include Piano, Vocal, or Instrumental Music.

A Bachelor of Arts in Music majors may select a band instrument, voice, or keyboard as the major performing area. He/she must complete a minimum of seven semesters of applied lessons, at least two of which must be taken at the 400 level. A minimum requirement of seven semesters in a major performing ensemble (Concert Band, Chorale) must also be fulfilled in his/her major performing area.
