Data governance is about the convergence of data quality, data management, data policies, business process management, and risk management around the handling of data within an organization.

The purpose of the program is to offer doctoral-level education matching the highest international standards in the fields of Sociology and Social Anthropology for prospective scholars and teachers. The Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology offers a doctoral program accredited by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York (US) for and on behalf of the New York State Education Department and on behalf of the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Austria).

Social work promotes social change and social cohesion based on principles such as social justice and human rights. The Bachelor's degree program in Social Work trains experts who enable people to overcome challenges and improve their well-being by advising, accompanying and planning and organizing assistance processes.

The course provides in-depth scientific and professional training with particular emphasis on (post-)migration social differences. This focus of study was chosen against the background of Austria's population structure being shaped by migration. People with migration experience can now be found in all areas of social work.

The part-time course in social, public and nonprofit management includes business knowledge, legal principles and a deep understanding of non-profit organizations. Graduates also develop social skills.

The PhD in Comparative History offers doctoral education matching the highest international standards for prospective scholars and teachers. A particular - indeed unique - feature of the program is that it focuses on the comparison, interconnectedness, and entanglements of distinct geo-cultural regions: Central, Southeastern, and Eastern Europe, and the Eastern Mediterranean, in close relation to the history of other historical regions, most notably with Western Europe and the Middle East.

Master of Arts in International Relations (2 years) The program is intended for students who have graduated from a three-year undergraduate program and would like to proceed with their studies more thoroughly, possibly to prepare themselves for a doctoral degree. The program offers an innovative, dynamic learning environment with relatively small class sizes and an interdisciplinary curriculum. It is accredited in both the US and Austria. 

In CEU’s bachelor's degree program in Data Science and Society (DSS), students learn to address some of the key questions for humanity today using a unique combination of mathematics, computer science, data analysis, and social sciences. You will study with peers from around the world, learn to present your ideas and knowledge effectively and prepare for exciting careers, all in beautiful Vienna.

The Two Year MA aims to present students with a wide range of theories and methods in sociology and social anthropology while examining their interaction and integration in the study of globalization and urban studies. The study of globalization and urban studies is conceived in the department as both a material and a formal object.

Two-year MA program in Sociology and Social Anthropology with optional specialization in Global and Urban Studies. The Two-Year MA requires that students take a total of 62 credits, of these 48 credits in coursework. (14 credits for the Thesis Consultation and Defense are not included in the required 62 credits!) In the first year, a minimum of 30 credits is to be undertaken. A further 18 credits may be taken in the second year.

The PhD in Comparative Gender Studies is a 4-6 year program for students with substantial MA-level background in gender studies theory and methodologies who wish to specialize in interdisciplinary research and teaching in an academic setting. Accredited in both the US and Austria, the program combines elements of North American and European style degrees with coursework, research proposal development, and a Comprehensive Exam in the first year, followed by research and dissertation writing alongside professional development in subsequent years.

GEMMA (Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in Women's and Gender Studies) is a two-year Postgraduate interdisciplinary study programme that provides high-quality education and professional competencies for personnel working or intending to work in the areas of Women's Studies, Gender Studies and Equal Opportunities across Europe and beyond.

The European Health Economics Management (Eu-HEM) Master’s degree offered by Management Center Innsbruck, the Universities of Bologna and Oslo, as well as Erasmus University Rotterdam, equips students with everything they need for a career in an international environment. The program was introduced in 2012 and, already in 2015, attained accreditation as well as quality assessment by respective bodies in Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, and Norway. All four members of the consortium thus, recognize the joint degree and joint diploma awarded upon completion of the program.

The one-year MA program builds on the strong tradition of international relations scholarship in North America, the UK, and Western Europe. The program aims to enable students to both explain and understand the material, military, economic as well as ideational factors for continuity and change in the international political system.
