Build a strong foundation of the fundamentals in criminology, sociology, psychology, and the criminal justice system to prepare for wide-ranging career paths wherever security teams are needed, including emergency services, policing, private security, and the Canadian Security Intelligence Services (CSIS) Forces. Beginning in the first semester, you’ll get real-world exposure through field trips to witness security and protection systems in action. To complement your theoretical knowledge, you’ll undertake safe, hands-on training in our on-campus scenario room to practice different techniques and skills.

The Network Security and Ethical Cyber Piracy (NSECP) program is designed to meet the high demand for information system security analysts and related IT security professionals across multiple sectors – including consulting services, finance and health care. Students graduating from this program will enter into a specialized information and communication technology (ICT) field.

The specialization of the BA in Security and Strategic Studies, in Crisis Management Communication, assures learning of and about crisis situations, management of crises, and communication effectiveness skills, in a constantly challenging environment. The Program’s specialization is tailored to meet the needs of the GCC and the Middle East, in line with the UAE vision on security resilience, taking into account multidisciplinary approaches to crisis management communication actions and actors. The specialization creates strategists and security experts that can have an important role in pre-during and after conditions in a crisis situation.

The specialization of the BA in Security and Strategic Studies, in Disaster Management, envisions a wide variety of expected or unexpected events that request security effectiveness and strategic planning ahead of a possible crisis. It also requires contingency planning in case of an unexpected disaster that ranges from natural to man-made. Specialty courses, encompass an analysis of the causes, how a crisis occurs, and the short and long-term consequences on how a crisis can be avoided or averted.

Be the one keeping your community or organization safe. If you are 19 years of age or older and looking to apply for a Security Worker License in BC, this training is for you. This course focuses on providing a foundation in professionalism and ethics, legal studies, report writing and personal safety. Students who successfully complete the course and final exam are eligible to apply for a BC Security Worker Licence.

Certificate III in Technical Security is a qualification for experienced security technicians who sell, install, repair, service, and maintain security equipment and systems that protect people and property, and prevent or minimize loss and damage.
