7 Security Certificate Programs

The Network Security and Ethical Cyber Piracy (NSECP) program is designed to meet the high demand for information system security analysts and related IT security professionals across multiple sectors – including consulting services, finance and health care. Students graduating from this program will enter into a specialized information and communication technology (ICT) field.

CCNA Security Certification course intends to equip professionals with the core security concepts and also helps to provide an understanding of the implementation process behind a secure network infrastructure.The professionals will be well-versed with VPN encryption, firewalls, and intrusion prevention by the end of this course. A thorough overview of web and email content security and endpoint security will also be provided. By the end of the course, the professionals will be able to install, troubleshoot, and monitor a secure network to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices.

Certificate III in Technical Security is a qualification for experienced security technicians who sell, install, repair, service, and maintain security equipment and systems that protect people and property, and prevent or minimize loss and damage. Technicians at this level operate independently and use discretion and judgment to plan and implement client requirements for installation, repair, service, and maintenance of security equipment and systems.

The Network Security post-diploma certificate program provides the necessary skills, knowledge and appropriate attitudes required for a career in Network Security. The program introduces the rudiments of networking architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and other computer networks. It also covers the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, administration of operating systems, and network security implementation. The program provides and implements network security solutions considering the affordances and limitations of the computer operating systems, networks, application software, and packages available. It also introduces and develops best practices, strategies, and processes to protect business resources by applying knowledge of vulnerabilities and exploits. Program graduates may pursue careers as Security Administrators, Ethical Hackers, Security Consultants, and Incident Responders.

This qualification, as described in the CPP Property Service Training Package, equips individuals with the entry level occupational licensing requirements for the security Industry in Victoria.Australian College of Trade delivers this training for licensing purposes as a holder of Private Security Business License for the license activity of Private Security Trainer.

Certificate II in Technical Security is a qualification for security technicians who sell, install, repair, service and maintain security equipment and systems that protect people and property and prevent or minimize loss and damage. Technicians at this level operate under general supervision and interact with clients to perform installation, repair, service and maintenance tasks at client premises.

This course has been approved by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency in the UK to satisfy the requirements of the International Maritime Organisation’s International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code), which is part of the Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) regulations. This training meets the requirements of Section A-V1/6 paragraph 4 of the amended STCW code.
