The AA in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Arts and Humanities provides students with a broad perspective on the culture and artistic expression of human beings and societies. It is designed to stimulate appreciation for and understanding of values, ideas, and artifacts of culture and society, specifically as these relate to how different cultures through the ages have responded to themselves and the world around them through the production of creative forms of expression. Critical thinking skills and self-understanding through these courses provide a framework for lifelong study in the liberal arts.

This program is designed for students who desire a broad knowledge of liberal arts, plus additional coursework in an "Area of Emphasis." This program would be an ideal choice for students planning on transferring to the California State University (CSU) or University of California (UC), as the student may satisfy their general education requirements, plus focus on transferable coursework relating to baccalaureate majors at these institutions.

As a humanities major, you’ll gain the ability to reason critically, communicate effectively and make connections across broad fields of knowledge. Begin with your Associate of Arts (DTA) degree at Tacoma Community College. TCC offers the Associate of Arts (DTA) degree with a Humanities track. The Associate of Arts (DTA) degree is a Direct Transfer Agreement degree and prepares students to transition successfully into a related Bachelor’s degree program at Washington State’s 4-year universities.

This Certificate of Higher Education in Arts and Humanities provides a broad introduction to the arts and humanities, including history, art history, philosophy, classical studies, religious studies, music and English. You’ll expand your cultural horizons whilst learning to think and argue clearly.

This Diploma of Higher Education in Arts and Humanities encompasses a wide range of fascinating disciplines in the arts and humanities. These include art history, classical studies, creative writing, English literature, history, music, philosophy and religious studies. You can also combine your study of the arts with other options including English language, French, German or Spanish, science, technology, psychology, or social science.

Humanities courses cover a wide range of topics and disciplines, such as film, literature, mythology, and popular culture. These courses are often multidisciplinary, combining subjects like film and psychology, or popular culture and history. Some of the courses examine particular cultures, such as Francophone, German or Latin American. Humanities courses can be a chance to delve into a topic enjoyably and creatively, as well as provide practice in many of the skills needed for required courses, particularly in critical thinking and academic writing. Some of the Humanities courses fulfill the Cultural Diversity (CD) requirement for the two-year degree.

Humanities, Philosophy, and Arts examine human values and experience within a wide range of cultures across the globe and over the course of history. Students will study, interpret, and evaluate classic works in architecture, art, literature, music, philosophy, religion, rhetoric, and the theater, and they will encounter questions to which there are multiple plausible answers. Students pursuing the program in the Humanities, Philosophy, and Arts will enhance their skills in critical thinking and both oral and written communication. The Humanities, Philosophy, and Arts program prepares students for further study in the arts, history, humanities, literature, philosophy, communication studies, and/or world languages at a four-year baccalaureate institution and provides an excellent foundation for students interested in administration, communications, law, public service, and teaching.

This program offers a full semester (30 ECTS credits) taught in English and is an opportunity for international students to acquire cross-curricular training in humanities and to develop their cultural competence.

Courses in the Humanities Program examine the historical, social, philosophical, religious, and artistic expressions of different cultures and their diverse perspectives on the sacred as well as secular worlds. The Humanities-Philosophy course offerings at Laney College provide students with an opportunity to delve into the grand, fantastic, and beautiful world of ideas. In addition to providing a transformative approach to the humanistic traditions, the department will also give students the opportunity to develop their critical thinking as well as their writing skills.

The Liberal Arts: Arts and Humanities Associate in Arts degree program is designed for students who wish for a broad knowledge of liberal arts and sciences with an area of emphasis in Arts and Humanities. This program is an ideal choice for students planning on transferring to the California State University or the University of California as the student can satisfy their general education requirements, plus focus on transferable course work that relates to majors at CSU or UC.

The Liberal Arts Degree: Arts and Humanities is a group of courses emphasizing the human condition — its limits, potential and creative expressions — through the study of cultural, literary, and artistic expression of human beings.

Art and Humanities courses emphasize the study of cultural, literary, humanistic activities and artistic expression of human beings. Students will evaluate and interpret the ways in which people through the ages in different cultures have responded to themselves and the world around them in artistic and cultural creation. Students will also learn to value aesthetic understanding and incorporate these concepts when constructing value judgments.

You’ll graduate as a scholarly disciple who is dedicated to loving God and neighbor, devoted to civic engagement, and committed to seeking truth, beauty, and goodness. You’ll learn about good leadership, moral and intellectual virtue, and the Christian tradition as a high-achieving, academically motivated undergraduate student.

The Foundation Course is a study program, taught in English and primarily aimed at candidates who do not possess the minimum schooling requirements outlined in current legislation for enrolment at Italian universities. Attendance of the Foundation Course is mandatory and students must accumulate all the credits provided by the course in order to obtain the final qualification. The modules available within the Foundation Course are taught in English and a certificate of knowledge of the English language at a B2 level is required.
