The ESTR (Education and Skills Training) program offers four certificates for students who have experienced barriers to employment to prepare them for entry level positions within the workforce. Each nine-month certificate runs from September through May and is divided between classroom work and hands on experiential learning.

You can continue to work and still get your education with our live classes - two nights a week from 6:30 - 9:00 P.M. Our highly qualified instructors care about your success. Building on the foundations of the Educational Assistant Certificate, learning in this program will explore the historical and philosophical influences on current best practices in school-age educational programming, examine the sociology of the Canadian family, develop specialized practice in supporting programming for children with exceptionalities and developmental disabilities, expand understanding and strategies in the areas of mathematics and language learning, and strengthen insights and approaches for working effectively as a contributing team member in planning and supporting school-age learning. This program offers a combination of theoretical instruction along with practical experience in an educational setting.

This course is an exciting opportunity for educational professionals and parents to come together to learn more about a range of special educational needs (SEN). The course is suited to a wide range of educational professionals, especially those in mainstream education, who would benefit from acquiring a basic overview of and introduction to SEN. This is a practical, professional development course rather than an in-depth Master’s module.

Our Associate of Science in Education degree program focuses on educational development and behavior. The program explores current education issues and trends in today’s private and public school environments and provides practical experience in classroom planning and creating lesson plans.

The emphasis of this major is to provide candidates with professional coursework needed to pursue a career in education-related roles. This major does not lead to teacher licensure. All areas include field experience in area schools. Students complete capstone projects during their senior year related to their chosen area of study. Students are required to select a minor with Educational Studies coursework. Programs are offered in the following areas: Education Paraprofessional Students take education courses related to planning, teaching, assessing, and managing learning environments in preparation for becoming an organizational aide. Education Research and Writing Students take coursework related to social science research, professional writing, educational methods, policy, process, and assessment.

This qualification provides an introduction to the theory and practice of education and training. The course has no teaching practice requirement and can be taken by individuals who are not currently in a teaching role. In this course you will cover the following: Understand the roles, responsibilities and associated relationships in education and training. Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training.
