13 Dietetics Preparatory Programs

International Studies Center University of Pécs Medical School offers a complex and integrated Preparatory Courses in English for Health Sciences (Nursing, Physiotherapy, Midwifery, Dietetics) that meets the language development needs of international students and facilitate their integration into the context of higher education in Hungary. International programs at Hungarian universities minimally require B2 (upper-intermediate) language level and you have to be knowledgeable in your chosen field of studies for admission.

The Associate in Science in Nutrition and Dietetics for Transfer introduces students to the principles and methodologies used in the study of nutrition and dietetics. Students will acquire the foundational knowledge necessary to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics. To earn an Associate of Science in Nutrition for Transfer degree, a student must complete 60 semester units that are eligible for transfer to the CSU system that consists of the IGETC pattern or CSU GE breadth and a major of 18 units more.

The Associate Degree for Transfer in Nutrition and Dietetics prepares students for success in a baccalaureate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with the lower division course work required to transfer into the CSU system. Students completing the Associate Degree for Transfer in Nutrition and Dietetics will be prepared to transfer to a CSU as juniors and pursue a baccalaureate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Students transferring to a non-CSU campus should consult the catalog and determine the specific campus requirements to which they are applying. The study of Nutrition provides a broad foundation in practical and personally applicable exposure to various scientific areas of nutrition, such as Chemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Biology. Students in the program learn how the scientific method and process contribute to nutritional requirements and how nutrients function from a cellular to a more practical level and then apply this knowledge to their health. This program will help the student understand the relationship between nutrition and disease prevention throughout life.

The Associate in Science in Nutrition and Dietetics for Transfer (AS-T Nutrition and Dietetics) degree is intended to meet the lower-division requirements for nutrition and dietetics majors or majors that have been deemed similar in the California State University (CSU) system. The degree prepares students to function in a variety of nutrition, public health, and clinical settings and is for students who seek to transfer to a CSU institution or to prepare for a career in nutrition and dietetics by meeting the requirements to work in a variety of health and wellness settings.

The Associate in Science in Nutrition and Dietetics for Transfer introduces students to the principles and methodologies used in the study of nutrition and dietetics. Students will acquire the foundational knowledge necessary to pursue post-secondary degrees in nutrition and dietetics.

The AS-T major in Nutrition and Dietetics prepares students for transfer into bachelor's degree programs in Nutrition and Dietetics and similar areas. Completion of this AS-T meets minimum eligibility for transfer to the California State University system.

The Dietetic Technology program provides training for Dietetic Technicians, who work cooperatively with Registered Dietitians. The Dietetic Technician is certified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to screen clients for nutritional risk, and assist in assessing dietary needs, implementing care plans, and supervising food production and service. The Dietetic Technician, trained in food and nutrition, is an integral member of the healthcare, business and industry, public health, food service, and research team.

This course has been designed to provide advanced professional education in diabetes care for a wide range of practitioners working in primary care including general practitioners, nurses from primary care, podiatrists, and pharmacists.

Advanced PG Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Knowledge of nutrition for overall health and wellness as well as therapeutic nutrition is recognized as integral tools for the prevention and treatment of many diseases currently ailing the global population. the Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics (APGDCDN) is a program which integrates courses on health, nutrition and disease.

The Associate in Science for Transfer degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (AS-T in Nutrition and Dietetics) offers students basic knowledge in microbiology, human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and nutrition. Students learn about chemicals and nutrients in food and their effects on the human body and the world. The study of Nutrition provides a broad foundation in practical and personally applicable exposure to a variety of scientific areas of nutrition such as chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and biology. Popular topics include microbial pathogens, environmental contaminants, nutrigenomics, macronutrient balance, energy metabolism, obesity, global issues, biochemistry of exercise, and micronutrient and phytochemical utilization. Students in the program learn how the scientific method and process contribute to nutritional requirements and how nutrients function from a cellular to a more practical level, and then apply this knowledge to their health. The program also helps students understand the role of nutrition in disease prevention throughout the lifecycle and as an impact on society as a whole.

This comprehensive 2½ year practitioner training diploma begins at UK level 5 (Irish level 6/7) and builds to UK level 6 (Irish level 7/8) – equivalent to a UK degree programme.

This Diploma will provide you with a solid understanding of the natural and physical sciences, including fundamental theoretical and practical principles of chemistry, biology, genetics; and for some pathways, environmental science.Your study is enhanced by additional interactive workshops and language development modules to build the communication skills you need for success in science industries.
