This program prepares students for licensing as a Barber. The Barbering program requires 1000 hours of comprehensive training in all facets of the Barbering Industry. Courses focus on theoretical fundamentals, practical manipulative skills, business knowledge, career development in the field, and the professional and ethical training needed for licensing through the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

Barbering techniques include cutting, styling and trimming hair for both men and women as well as shaving and maintaining facial hair for men. Students will also learn the basics of customer service, reception and salon management.

Successful completion of our 525 Hour barbering program will not only give you the skills and knowledge needed to pass the apprenticeship exams but these hours are included as your required technical training. All of our staff are certified Red Seal journeypersons with many years of experience in the trade.

This certificate program is designed to provide Cosmetology students with the necessary knowledge and skills required by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations for licensure.

The BARBER/STYLIST postsecondary instructional program prepares individuals to cut, colour, perm, shampoo, and style hair. Students are also instructed on the proper techniques for facial massaging and shaving. Special attention is given to hygiene, safety, skin, scalp diseases, and equipment sterilization.
