Graduates of MFA in Literary Translation will be equipped with the skills, connections, and portfolio to find translation work and to pursue a wide variety of international careers, not only in literary but also in technical, legal, and humanitarian fields. They will be well qualified to work as editors in literary publishing, as many Boston University MFA and Ph.D. graduates have gone on to do. For those desiring further graduate study, the MFA provides an exceptionally strong foundation from which to begin a Ph.D. in comparative literature, language & literature, or area studies or social science field.

The CdLM aims to train graduates who have the ability to confidently master the written and oral expression of two of the six foreign languages on offer. It pays particular attention to the creation of skills in specialized translation with an emphasis on specialized languages in various domains and disciplinary lexicons.

The Master´s Degree in Translation in Multilingual Digital Environments provides specialised training in quality linguistic content in translation, correction, editing and multilingual web content. It focuses on excellence in the use of languages and on taking advantage of the wide range of language technologies available. It also emphasizes the importance of developing students' critical capacity to reflect on the communicative realities towards which the training content is oriented. The main foreign language is English. In addition, the student will work with a second foreign language (German or French). Through the credits of the subject course "Research in Translation and Interpreting Studies and Multilingual Communication", this master's degree also allows the student to start research tasks and to access doctoral studies, such as the Doctorate in Translation, Professional Translation and Audiovisual Studies (joint doctorate programme together with the University of Valladolid and University of Alicante).

The course trains professional interpreters, translators and experts in the intercultural professions able to operate in all contemporary fields of work, which require specialized skills: from traditional to newer sectors, including the field of new technologies and digital and multimedia communication.

The curriculum Interpreting and Technologies for Communication (InTeCo) is part of the Master’s program in Interpreting. The Master’s program also includes a separate curriculum in Conference interpreting (ConfInt), which is taught in Italian and therefore will not be the focus here.
