PGECOL presents itself in the context of CAPES 'Ecology and Environment area, now the Biodiversity macro area, as a master's course started in 2005 and already consolidated (its hundredth dissertation was defended in 2014) and a doctoral course started in 2011 in the evident consolidation process. PGECOL is aware of its mission to train professionals capable of working in the solution of problems, conceptual and applied, concerning Environmental Sciences.

Unifesp's trajectory reflects the commitment of its community to the pursuit of excellence in its teaching, extension, and research activities, developed in an integrated manner and based on listening to society's demands. This commitment results in the training of professional citizens with solid technical, scientific, and humanistic training. Currently, Unifesp has six campuses offering 27 undergraduate courses. The stricto sensu graduate program has 51 Academic Master's Degrees, 38 doctorates, and 5 Professional Master's Programs, of which more than 50% accredited before 1984. This scenario contributes to the maintenance and growth of an enabling environment for training activities, production of knowledge and dialogue with society, and for the qualification of its role as a Higher Education Institution of national and international reference.

The Postgraduate Program in Animal Biology (PPGBA) is an academic master's degree from UFVJM, in Diamantina-MG, created in 2015 and designed within the broad area of ​​Biodiversity. Its objective is the training of trained human resources to carry out activities related to integrated studies in the areas of ecology, animal morphology and physiology, biogeography, the taxonomy of recent groups, and applied zoology.

The Graduate Program in Microbial Biology (PPGBM) at the CEUMA University to train qualified, competent, and ethical human resources who can provide services with a standard of excellence in research, teaching, and extension through the integration of the various sub-areas of Microbiology and their interfaces (Immunology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, and Pharmacology, etc.). Currently, the course has an area of ​​concentration (Microbial Biology) and three lines of research: (i) Mechanisms of pathogenicity and pathogen-host interaction; (ii) Molecular and phenotypic characterization of microorganisms; (iii) Bioactive products. The curricular structure contemplates interdisciplinarity offering disciplines articulated with the desired profile to the graduate of the course, area of ​​concentration, and lines of research.

Discuss and investigate scientific and technological training in the training of professionals, as well as their performance in teaching and learning in the areas of Science and Mathematics, with an emphasis on science education; Contribute to investigations of teaching practices, production, and use of various teaching materials (texts, equipment, experiments, games, videos, and software); Train research professors who use digital information and communication technologies (TDIC) in a critical, creative, and innovative way; and Debate and investigate educational policies related to Science and Mathematics Teaching and the training of teachers for these areas.

The fundamental aspects that guided the creation of the course were solid theoretical concepts in the areas of structural calculation and mechanical manufacturing combined with practical classes in order to support the theoretical subjects taught in the classroom. This course was developed in line with the engineering sector of Vale do Rio Doce, which has had structural and manufacturing problems in its equipment. This partnership would make it possible to improve the company's practical knowledge combined with the theoreticians of PUC Minas in order to disseminate this knowledge with gains for the whole of society.
