The purpose of the Master in High Performance in Team Sports is to train specialists who acquire a specific work methodology for training in team sports, know and use tools related to planning, control, and evaluation of training in this type of sports, and experience practical situations in which the model developed in the theoretical contents is applied.

With 32 varsity sports in the NAIA, Midland is home to the largest athletic department in Nebraska and over 800 student-athletes. Our athletic training students will have hands-on training in a variety of team and individual sports, allowing diverse and comprehensive educational and clinical experiences. With a smaller school experience, Master of Athletic Training students will have access to various interprofessional opportunities with our growing Human Performance and Nursing programs. Midland’s recently opened Simulation Lab allows students hands-on experience with mannequins exhibiting a variety of conditions, and the renovated dedicated Athletic Training space provides a home for athletic training development. For those students who already have an undergraduate degree, Midland offers a traditional, two-year MAT option. Students can apply for the program and begin summer courses. The clinical immersion experience allows students to obtain a full-time athletic training experience in a variety of settings.

Gannon University’s Master of Athletic Training program prepares students to deliver patient-centered health care through classroom and clinical education experiences. The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) is a two-year full-time program for students interested in a career as an Athletic Trainer. Students in our program will participate in comprehensive clinical experiences, including more than 16 weeks of immersive experiences in a variety of local medical settings and anticipated settings nationwide and globally.

The AT Strategic Alliance has established that the minimum professional degree required to become an Athletic Trainer (AT) is a master’s. This program will allow students to fulfill this requirement and complete the BOC, Inc. examination in order to become nationally certified as an AT.
