12 Aging Masters Degree Programs

The EC2U Joint Master’s Degree “LIFELINE – Lifelong Well-being and Healthy Ageing” is a 2-year Master’s Degree (4 semesters, 30 ECTS each, 120 ECTS in total) that provides students with the knowledge, skills, professional and research competences necessary to the specialists of interdisciplinary approaches concerning lifelong well-being and healthy ageing. This degree is in line with professional practice within national and European public institutions and private companies and will form high-level experts in the bio-psychosocial fields related to well-being and ageing.

In Therapeutic Physical Activity for People with Chronic Pathology, Aging, or Disability with Physiotherapists specialized in work in care centers, public or private, that develop or want to start rehabilitation programs based on the practice of therapeutic physical exercise. Physiotherapists specialize in working in health centers and gyms that include chronic patients in their training programs.

The University Master's Program in Aging constitutes an offer to the members of all the Degrees or Degrees for their academic and research training in different areas (health, educational, sociocultural, ethical-legal and management) involved in the study of human aging. Subject of great interest, given the progressive increase in the elderly population as well as the increasingly frequent displacement of care corresponding to the field of professionals. Hence, multidisciplinary knowledge is essential to provide a solution to the fundamental needs of this population; demand that will continue to grow in the immediate future since our Region constitutes a place of choice for the tourism of the third age as well as a stable residence for many elderly foreign citizens, and for the considerable deficits of attention structures that make the initiatives very significant community service provision, as well as the generation of programs to achieve a healthy old age, avoiding the uprooting of the elderly person from their environment and reducing their possible institutionalization.

‘Health, Ageing and Society’ is the new name for the Master’s Vitality and Ageing. We are ready for change – are you?! The name reflects the broad contents of the study and it better reflects what the programme stands for. Approximately 150 students have graduated since the start of the programme in 2016. The Aging & Health program provides the basic competencies in aging studies offered by faculty interested in aging from mid-life to end of life, ethics and humanities in aging, health care administration, and policy.

The program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and professional and research competencies necessary for specialists in interdisciplinary approaches to lifelong well-being and healthy ageing.

The program focuses on the applications of theory to clinical practice and prepares students to be advanced aging and long-term care professionals. The program trains students to acquire 8 professional competencies, including advanced professional intelligence, multi-disciplinary collaboration, management capability, research capability, critical thinking, evidence-based humanity care, lifelong learning, and diverse cultural capability.

Minnesota State Mankato's innovative Aging Studies program prepares students to have a meaningful impact on society by supporting individuals as they age. Our program encompasses the biological, social and psychological aspects of aging, providing students with a broad and versatile background with which to serve older adults.
