The MA in Applied Child and Adolescent Psychology is a degree program for educators, psychologists, and other professionals in education who are seeking to work with children, adolescents, families, and schools. The Master of Arts in Child Development is a 51-unit, evening program designed to provide students with an in-depth background in child growth and development. This program is targeted to students wishing to continue their studies at the graduate level in child and human development, for those currently in careers relating to children and families (e.g., early childhood education, elementary education, special education, or social service professionals), for those wishing to teach early childhood courses at a community college, and for those who plan to pursue doctoral-level studies in related fields such as child/human development, child and family studies, developmental psychology, and clinical/counseling psychology.

The Master of Arts in Child Development is a 36-unit graduate program designed to provide students an in-depth background in child development and learning. The M.A. in Child Development will provide professional educators in early childhood a deep, interdisciplinary understanding of the theories of the intellectual, social, emotional, and biological development of young children.

The MA in Child Studies investigates child cognition, emotion, social functioning, language, literacy, numeracy, moral development, special needs learners, and play. Education researchers also consider the critical role that families, peers, teachers, schools, inclusive practices, communities and culture play in development.

The Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development's Master of Arts in Child Study and Human Development provides students with a strong theoretical foundation in child development, coursework in an area of specialization, research skills, and applied opportunities and fieldwork that prepare students for a career that directly impacts the lives of children, youth and families.

MA Childhood Studies is a taught Masters programme which takes an informed and critical approach to the academic study of childhood studies.
