Key Summary
This course examines the current knowledge of intervening in situations of stress and crisis and the tools to help the individual.
It deals with four areas:
- Identifying the acute stress response.
- Resilience mechanisms and ways to develop them and create a safe place.
- Introduction to tools that can help assess the situation.
- familiarity with methods for immediate intervention.
- The impact of trauma on caregivers.
Professor (Emeritus) Mooli Lahad is an Israeli psychologist and psycho trauma specialist, known for his creative methods of intervention and treatment of stress. He is the founder and former director of the Institute of Dramatherapy and President of the Community Stress Prevention Centre at Kiryat-Shemona. Prof. Lahad is the head of the International Academic Affairs Unit at Tel-Hai College. Prof. Lahad champions the application of creative approaches such as drama therapy and bibliotherapy in preventing and treating psycho-trauma. He is the recipient of 6 awards for his pioneer work. Author and co-author of 35 books and dozens of articles on Trauma and Resilience. Internationally renowned expert on treatment and rehabilitation of communities' post-traumatic incidents.
This course will add value to those students/practioners who have basic knowledge on topics related to Stress, Trauma, Coping and PTSD.

Participants will learn these topics in a combination of online lectures exercises, simulations, and short academic assignments that will be submitted after each section.
