The new BA (Hons) Business Entrepreneurship programme is designed to provide you with a fundamental business knowledge and also encourages you to foster innovative thinking and cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. The programmes mission is to nurture your journey, to graduation, and prepare you to launch and lead your own venture or excel as an intrapreneur. Whether launching a business or navigating the complexities of a corporate career, you will be equipped to lead responsibly, upholding ethical standards that benefit both the marketplace and the broader communities.
You first year will introduce you to entrepreneurship and the professional environment through modules focussed on interpersonal skills for professional success, fundamentals of starting a business, managing innovation, and start-up projects.
In your second year, you will focus on technology skills for professional excellence, core functions for small and medium sized enterprise (SME) owners, project management for entrepreneurs and enterprise consultancy projects.
Your final year of study will focus on responsible leadership for a sustainable future, the entrepreneur's mindset and business strategy, managing finances and international collaborative projects.

Course information
The BA (Hons) Business Entrepreneurship degree at Manchester Met offers a dynamic mix of theory, applied practice, and city-wide innovation. Empowering you to turn ideas into impact and start your entrepreneurial journey with confidence.
Year one builds your entrepreneurial foundation: developing professional competencies, fundamentals of starting a business, managing innovation and start-up projects. You’ll learn to spot opportunities, work collaboratively, and develop resilience, strengthening critical thinking and communication.
Your second year of study immerses you into areas of business such as project management, core functions for SME owners, and technology skills for professional excellency. During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the option of undertaking a placement year or study abroad.
Your final year of study culminates in a major research project, enabling you to engage in international collaborative projects centred around entrepreneurial activities and your own business ideas. This will equip you with strategic thinking, innovation leadership, and commercial readiness.
The course is delivered by research-active academics based in our triple accredited business school. During your time on the course, you will have many opportunities to connect with the industry including frequent guest lectures, consultancy challenges and optional international placements. This course is new for September '26 entry. A number of graduates from our business management and business management with law courses have gone onto successfully launch businesses. Examples include Rep-public clothing, an activewear brand launched in 2022, an emergency Car Key company, and a sneaker store in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
With a degree in business entrepreneurship, you could go on to work in one of the following:
- Start your own business (start-up, family business, social enterprise, etc.)
- Corporate roles in innovation, product management, or business development
- Consulting for start-ups or established companies
- Venture capital & investment (supporting and evaluating new ventures)
- Education & mentoring in entrepreneurship
- Freelancing or building a personal brand in the gig economy
