Clinical Education BSc

The intercalated BSc in Clinical Education offers a unique one-year opportunity for undergraduate medical and dental students to step away from their clinical programmes and pursue an education degree. This course is designed to deepen your understanding of Clinical Education, focusing on teaching methodologies and educational research. You will explore key principles of pedagogical practice, including curriculum design, educational policy, and assessment skills, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. A significant component of the course is the engagement in educational research, culminating in a research project that you will develop and complete.Peer learning and discussion are integral to each module, fostering an environment where you can reflect on experiences and enhance your problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The course highlights include opportunities to collaborate with other healthcare professionals and the potential to apply for Associate Fellow of Advance HE through the UoL PRiSE scheme upon completion. You will also develop essential pedagogical research skills, paving the way for a career as a healthcare professional educator.The course is delivered by experts from the Leeds Institute of Medical Education (LIME) and the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS), providing access to extensive academic resources and support.
